Author Message   Tdman77 Posted on Friday, September 05, 2008 - 12:34 pm:        My X1 wont stay running when I first start her up. It fires up then dies. If I keep starting it I can get it to where I rev it to about 2k for about 30secs then it will idle, but even then it will just cut off. I just bout this bike 2 months ago with 6300 miles on it and have not had any problems until now. She has a K&N air filter and a D&D slip-on exhaust. Please any help for you experienced guys. I have adjusted the idle screw but now the bike idles around 1400-1500rpms once warmed up. Someting I forgot to mention is that the temp around here has dropped by 15-20degs in the past week. With my old sporty I just used the choke till it warmed up, but this DDFI is kicking my butt! I am going to take the bike to the dealership this weekend and see if they will reset the TPS. (It was owned by a brother of the owner of the dealership. So I hope they will hook me up.) Some FI bikes have an enrichener which basically is a choke. We dont have them. I usually allow it to warm @ 1500 for a few then it'll idle. Try to get it to idle at 900 while warm. Worked for me.   Oldog Posted on Saturday, September 06, 2008 - 01:06 am:        The issue is common to all FI bikes, I have the race ECM and at times its fussy just a GENTLE rap for a few seconds to put some heat in the heads wait say 10 seconds or better to allow the oil pressure to build first. the TPS and an adjust usualy clear it up mine idles at ~800 cold and about 1050 hot   Sloppy Posted on Monday, September 08, 2008 - 02:42 pm:        CLEAN the throttle body -- especially where the valve and body meet. This area will get plugged with debris and disrupt the air flow. It's amazing how little area there is for proper idle. Set your idle to spec when the bike is warmed up -- about 1200 rpm(?) This is another common problem for poor idle. Check to see if you may have an intake leak
