does anybody have the part # and possibly a price for the mounting bracket to use on an s2 with the s3 bags so they are interchangeable?? or better yet, anything easier that can be fabricated without buying the new bracket for the s3 bags...

I checked several months ago on this but did not purchase it. The # was J01897 best I can tell from my notes. If I remember correctly it was around 400. or so. Hopes this helps.

As of my purchase on 10 August . . .

Part # L1025.8 . . . $414.06

The fit is relatively bozo-proof and the install took about 6 hrs. start to finish. That includes 3 hours of fabricating brackets for an custom plate mount and aftermarket signal lamps.

The bags look pretty good on the bike . . .at least they will a soon as I have the lids repainted. I went ahead and bought the bumpers (C3011.EA), boots (C3012.E) and clamps (00650.8)as well . . .did not want to spent the time fabricating and/or making due. The clamps are $18.64 each . . .sheesh.

Here is a link to the Service Bulletin that covers the install . . .

Hope this helps . . .

Shane,

My apologies. I have gone to a new ISP and have a new location for my Buell related stuff since I posted that link. I should go back through the archives and make corrections . . .but don't quite know where the time and energy for the effort will come from.

The Service Bulletin mentioned above can now be found at . . . .http://www.doncasto.net/Saddlebags.pdf

Thanks for both bringing my laziness to my attention and for your patience.

Don Casto
