ok so I have been looking around for exhaust options for my newly purchased 2000 m2 and well it seems to me that all the options seem to be the types that you have to repack every so often with the exception for the force set up which is a little expensive for me. So my question is, is there any pipes out there besides the force that does not require repacking?

The OEM muffler that does not need re-packed and can be PRODUCT IMPROVED to give just as good performance a need to be repacked every so often after market or for that matter the Pro-Series muffler ...

All you have to do is add an outlet on the right side ...

Did mine that way and it works for me ...

E-mailed Djkaplan that "i" would e-mail him picture that he could post as "i" do not know how ...

Firebolt020283: e-mail me so that "i" can get your e-mail address and you get picture ...

Ljenne73c@verizon.net

It is not much louder that an un-PRODUCT IMPROVED OEM Muffler and the added outlet is hard to see unless you knew there was not supposed to be an outlet there ...

I would recommend the Vance & Hines SS2R. Not too loud. Easy to repack. A lot lighter than the stock muffler. Pleasing to the eyes.

+1 on what Joe said. That is what I'm running. There were issues with the earlier models welds breaking, but I'm pretty sure the later models have it all sorted out.

These are model specific in regards to the year of your bike.

I would say all the aftermarket cans are louder than stock. To me, the V&H has a good rumble, not too much at idle but it throws out the dbs at speed. It doesn't sound like a straight piped sportster however - if that's what you are looking for.

+1 on the V&H - it's easy and inexpensive to repack, and sounds great without being obnoxiously loud. Even though mine is the allegedly more fragile carbon fiber version, it still looks new after 40k miles.

The V&H is loud enough to enjoy during idle and cruise with a nice bark at aggressive throttle. The sound is noticeably directional. If you are looking for loud look else where like D&D.

Maybe this is a good time to ask about my muffler. I have a Wiley Co. muffler on my M2, installed by the previous owner. I've been trying to find information on weather or not it needs repacked, but can't find anything. Anyone know?

The exhaust on my 01 m2L is one I have never seen mentioned in these forums, the plaque on the muffler says:"RLY Riders Land YOYO Racing" I got my bike ex Japan where it lay damaged in a warehouse for about 6 years, it came with Air Tech solo seat etc. and had apparently been raced, its all fixed and looking pretty good, (tried to post photo but I must be doing something wrong),its very loud and quite offensive I would imagine when passing cars under acceleration, it has allen bolts at the exhaust end so imagine it could be repacked but would appreciate any information about these mufflers as new laws that came into effect last month in this country mean a noise check is going to be done at "warrant of fitness" time.

Prairie, yes, someday it will need repacking, I suspect it will last longer between repacks than a V&H or Buell Race, but I've only got 5k or so on mine with the original packing.

Cool, thanks Aesquire. I'm not sure how many miles have been put on my muffler, but that gives me an idea of what to expect. I've put about 3k on it myself. It sounds fine, but I like to be prepared for maintenance instead of suprised.

Question about the D&D- I recently dusted off my M2, and now that I'm riding it, I find that all the neighbors aren't really happy with my 5AM rides to work. Are all of em that loud, or is mine jacked up?
