I replaced my plug wires with a set from American Sport Bike. It made the engine run smoother, no surprise since my old wires were in rough shape. I cable tied the new wires together and was careful to keep them away from the frame. High speed running is noticeably smoother, but I seem to have developed a low speed cough or stumble. I raised my idle up a bit to help this, but was wondering if the [assumed] better spark may have caused a lean condition at low speed? My low speed screw has the metal plug missing, so I assume Harley tax has been paid. The bike has 25K mileage, but I have never checked the ignition timing. Before I start messing around with the mixture, etc., I figured I'd find out what you all thought. |

better spark has nothing to do with the mixture, the stumble could be an air leak. |

I agree with Oldog. You mentioned cable ties on the spark plug wires. You should not tie them together, but keep them separated, as a good practice. |

Well, I have been planning to replace the intake and exhaust gaskets. Is there a way to static time M2's? |
