I have had a clunk every time I applied the front brake for a bit more than a year now.
I first had the steering head bearings replaced. They were shot and it improved the handling of the bike.
BUT
The brake still clunked.
I couldn't find anything loose in the front of the bike so I resigned myself to ride a clunking bike for a year.

Well yesterday, in the sun, I saw just a hint of blue paint on the D-shaped thing on top of the front isolator.
Sure enough, the D shaped thing had rotated so that the flat spot wasn't pointing to the front and
the lack of clearance was allowing the engine to thunk against the frame in deceleration!
Fixed it in 10 minutes!!

I don't know if I put it in wrong or if it vibrated around by itself.

Yeah the good ones say "barry" on them from barry controls.
It should be cast in tiny letters in the rubber.

Where do you find the isolators that say "barry"? I just repalced mine and posted a new thread about the urethane replacment. I put the 16207-79B in because it was readily available but I would swap it for the piece of mind that a better part brings
