I noticed on my commute into work today that my Tach was indicating 4400 RPM at just over 70mph. It has always indicated about 4100@70 since I got it. My usual cruise is between 70 - 80 mph.My clutch gives no indication of slipping when launching. Has anyone else observed the same condition?

I have the stock front 27 tooth pulley. What are your pulley sizes? You're almost 10mph faster at the same RPM.

Thats because its a Carbon haha. No seriously I run the stock ratio 27/61. (everyone knows the carbon fiber is the fastest)

Rode home from work yesterday. Approx 80mph @4000RPM.I did not find any loose wires to the tach.I think I was full of *#%@#" on the first speed/RPM ratio but the revs were still noticeably higher to draw my attention to it. I had to keep myself from trying to diagnose the issue in rush hour traffic. Yea the carbon definately makes you faster. At least for jets and arrows.

Would be something to keep in the back of your mind. If it is that clutch, you'll see it again. I had a GSXR that would do it every now and then. Turned out to be two springs hanging up on the basket. Different clutch design though. I hope things dont develop for the worse...............Matt.

I live in the country and ride pretty hard when I'm not in traffic. I haven't noticed any clutch slipping. That is why I was leaning towards a loose connection to the tach.
