Some time ago I posted a thread in the KV about front iso replacement last weekend 1313 examined the front iso on my sled, being an Engineer and with his back ground it was a good thing, its terminal. at 18 months and about 12k miles. less than half what the original lasted. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=3842&post=802116#POST802116 |

Seems to me there is an over stress condition due to other mounts being too tight, or rear isolators worn out.... |

I estimate that my second one just failed at 6K. It hadn't broken but was torn underneath. Is there a standard life expectancy for this part or does it vary dramatically with the type of riding? |

Lafayette please review the linked stuff and please tender your suggestion any thing is possible. the short version of the last assembley with the motor supported I removed the old part I positioned the new part in the frame. loosley attached all 3 bolts tightened the outer 2 and then the center one with the motor lifted to contact the mount. |

Put everything together finger tight, then remove the support from under the front of the engine ... Then torque and tighten everything ... |
