I´m looking for a new starter.

I overhauled mine last year with that contacts/plunger repair set and the problems I´ve had were almost gone temporary, but now this,"klicking, klicking and so on and on and than suddenly start" problem, especially when the engine is cold, was back again.

Last year,I replaced all related cables, checked the relay and bought a brand new Hawker(allways fully charged).

This time, when I removed the selenoid´s plunger I found welded spots all over the copper ring.
Seems to me like the voltage flux goes only through spots, instead of using the whole surface of the contacts.Or that a high-voltage arc jumps from the contacts to the plunger and reverse before they get contact.

Anyway,I faced that ring in my lathe and now the starter works again on the first push of the button.
To me it seems like I´m not able to solve that annoying problem permanent, using the OEM starter.
I´m fed up with it and want a longer problem free working unit for my Cyclone.

Any suggestions/experiences which one, aftermarket or OEM will be the best?
Anyone tried this Ebay starter?

I just put a Spyke 1.4kW high torque starter on the S3 has stopped partial roll over that was occurring. Not may miles with it or time. But cleared up my starter problems. Look at J&P Cycles for some options.
