I thought I had a problem with the throttle cables on my RS, but it turns out to be a carb issue. This is a (I think) stock S1WL carb, rebuilt (but who knows if it was completly disassembled) a couple years ago.

The butterfly was frozen closed and was very hard to move. I sprayed cleaner and WD40, wiped off the mechanism and moved it around until it responded like it should (sopeneasy, snap closed) and rode for about an hour yesterday.

But I noticed this morning the throttle was slow to open and close again. Any thing I can do (other than replace the carb which I don't have time for?)

Thanks,
Josh

Have you tried popping off the top and cleaning out the slide?
That shouldn't too hard if you have one of those little philips screwdriver ratchets.

the slide could cause that? I'll admit I don't know much (ie nothing) about carbs.

Try a complete disassemble {easy}and soak in carb cleaner....That will usually get rid of all gungies & free things up...Hb
