Howdy, here's the details

Bike; '01 S3T, V&H SSR pipe, race ECM, Forcewinder intake. Plugs removed were H-D 10R12A. Picked up NGK DPR8EA-9 plugs today and installed with .04 gap. 18mm socket to install.

Reason to change; I'm heading up to Canada for a road trip and wanted a spare set anyway.

Any predictions, advice, or recommendations for a better plug for this bike with 27K miles? TIA

Yeah, I know this is an old horse flogged to death here; I did the search and came up with A LOT of opinions, etc., but no definite answers and the NGK website says they don't make plugs specific for these Buells anymore.

You're just going to smack me when I say this...
but I have always just used what the dealership gave me.
I find that they're good for about 15,000 miles and are simple/easy to replace.

Hey Nate-nice bike lift!! I like it.

No, no smack from me on that, I liked what the dealership had done with this bike until I dug into it more and...dealers' service depts. are all different.

First impressions from a 70 mile country ride with these NGKs as stated from above; you gotta try 'em.

I let the race ECM get it's new reference points with the cooler plugs, takin it easy out in the country for about 20 miles, and the motor seems to have smoothed out and runs much better. I thought I might be imagining things but my hands could tell a difference on the bars. Less vibration and nowhere near as buzzy on the grips, the ECM adjusted just fine and there were no fuelling problems low end or top end-ran up to 115 with the wide bags on, lickety split. I'll go out and pull the plugs to check color.

Long term-I'll let you know when we get back from Manitoba. Yeah, up der in da great white Nort wit da hosers.

I just bought some NGK plugs after referencing their website. I use 9's in the summer and 8's in the winter. For me they last about 7000 miles before they start to loose their edge.

Who said that NGK does not make plugs that fit Buell anymore???

The application charts on the NGK website are empty for tubers. Which is the plug you use, for which bike?

Right! Plus, what showed up when I DID click the X was a different plug than someone here had tried, and preferred. Pulled those plugs and they looked great. Will report on any gas mileage difference when we get back from Manitoba. Later...
