Does anyone know how to put the license plate on the side?

Looks like it's using the passenger footpeg mount. Probably just a little fabbed bracket.

That location wouldn't fly in some jurisdictions with no light and being sideways, but let your freak flag fly, man.

I wonder what the story is on the muffler?

Careful with that tag placement and setup. It is illegal in most states to have a "modified" tag like that. Its one of those things that you might see on bikes all the time. You might have it and never get hassled for it, but there is always the chance that you might get knocked off. I know here in South Florida the police are looking for stuff like that to nail you.

Thanks for the advice. I have just been looking for options on getting rid of the ugly fender on the back.

why dont you just cut the fender? It melts like butter with a makita grinder/dremel and finishes nice with a razor blade and a steady hand. Plus, its free!

Here's how I did mine.

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/264203.html?1182460277

I used a Dremel and hand files to trim the fender part totally away. The bracket is .19 aluminum plate that I cut, bent, and generally molested with hole saws.

My tail has changed, but I still use the same bracket for the license plate.

Be careful how you mount the plate. In an accident, it could turn into a whirling scythe and cut you really bad.
