Well, I doubt I'm going to lose another taillight lens : )

Got 2 6-32 screws, 3" long, 2 #6 stainless washers and 2 6-32 nylock nuts.

Drilled out the holes through the lens slightly so the screws fit thru without threading into the lens material. Used the same drill bit to drill through the body-side of the taillight assembly, where the original screws went in. Drilled all the way through everything (taillight assembly and tail section bodywork) until the drill bit came out above the rear tire.

CAUTION. Check before you drill the hole on the left side of the bike. I had to reverse a wire clamp (attached to the taillight attaching bolt) so the wiring harness was towards the centerline of the bike and away from the drill bit I was about to shoot through.

I put everything in place, pushed the bolts through the lens, the backing plate, and the bodywork, put a washer and a nylock on each one and tightened the lens onto the bodywork.

That oughta keep it in place : )

(Phelan sneaks over to Rat's house and pulls the nuts off the bolts, secretly leading the taillight to its doom) : D
