Author Message   Phatkidwit1eye Posted on Saturday, June 21, 2008 - 11:56 pm:        Howdy, I'm having some electrical issues with my 2000 X1. Where I'm at.... Today started with me being unable to start my bike today. Eventually, after a few tries it eventually started, but once I turned her off, she wouldn't start again. Everything works on the bike except it wont start and the blinkers cut in and out when the the switch is pressed. I started with checking the kick stand switch and bypassed it. Which did nothing. I then checked the ignition relays in the fuse box, uncertain if they were working I replaced both. Still nothing. None of the fuses were blown, either. I then bypassed the clutch safety switch. That allowed me to start up the bike as it normally should. I thought this was the answer, but with the bike in neutral, does that switch even matter? I've checked for rubbed wires and didn't see anything. The blinkers, with the switch in the ON position, will blink intermittently and then turn off for a few minutes and then turn back on again. Any help would be appreciated. It really sucked to tell my girl no riding today. Thanks, Phat   Buell78758 Posted on Sunday, June 22, 2008 - 12:11 am:        I know this is basic, but I had problems just from corrosion btw the terminals and battery cables. Try taking off and cleaning them. Also, batteries can just crap out and you may need a new one. Try using a battery tender if you have one. Good luck! CN   Chasespeed Posted on Sunday, June 22, 2008 - 11:51 am:        Check all your wiring around the neck, triples, etc. I have made several repairs in that harness over the last couple years. You can also turn your blinkers on, twist the bars, and see what happens. Anyway.... It ended up being something with one of the diodes on the relay block. As always, thank you all for the help.
