Does anyone know if the gray wheels (like the 96 S2) came on the 95 S2? All my literature shows the 95 S2 (white frame) with the white wheels. I think a number of them came with the chrome PM wheels, at least as an option, but not the gray ones. Is that correct?
Thanks,

Frank
Edit to post: Title should be 95 S2 Stock wheel color not 96......

No. They did not. 1995 was white and PM option only.

If asking because of a certain red S2, it's very common for owners to swap out the optional PM wheels for whichever three spoke alternative they can find, whether it's the Marchesinis or the later cast Buell wheels. Many possible reasons to do so, such as
-damaged PM originals are expensive and hard to replace
-Selling the PM wheels and putting cheaper ones on to make a profit is common
-Some people can't stand having to polish the PM wheels all the time 'cuz they oxidize quickly

There could be other reasons too.

Thanks Ross, my thoughts as well. I had PM wheels on my 97 S1 and they were a pain to keep up but worth the effort when they had a nice polish on them.

Yeah, I need to polish mine but I don't have the tools ATM to lift the bike right and get the wheels off. I'm thinking about having the PM wheels powdercoated Silver.

Hey Frank, I sent you an email on another subject. I don't plan on getting rid of them anytime soon, but if I ever change my mind, I'll give you first dibs.
