I'm thinking of swaping out my 29T front for a 27T. Can I do this with out changing the belt? I want a little more pick up as I ride mostly local. Your opinion and experiences will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris, simple swap.A couple hundred rpm`s higher, tightens shift from 1st to second and makes the motor spin a little faster. It`s all good.

The same belt can be used without a problem. The only thing is that the stock S2 lower belt guard will get it's pocket eaten away by the belt. The S1 (and early M2 and S3) style lower belt guard works like a charm as they came with the 27/61 gearing. Or if you are running without the lower belt guard there is nada to worry about.

Thank you gentlemen! My lower belt guard is has been worn for a long time so no big deal there. I just didn't want to get another belt if I didn't have too. Plus I wanted the ability to go back easily with out removing the side plate.

Thnkas again
Chris
