Hey M-2bers, I just picked up my M2L about a week ago. Lovin every minute of it so far. Except for when I squeeze the gas tank with my legs I end up bangin into the stock bread box. Anybody know where I can get a custom one that fits flush online...or in the state of Texas? Or rather any suggestions on what I can do to relieve the problem on my own...other than knee pads? don't want to spend more than a couple hundred and wouldn't mind installing on my own if it's not too difficult. A Screamin Eagle Sportster or Twin Cam air cleaner set up will work without much hassle. | ||

Those hamcan style air filters for Harley's don't work very well in Buell applications. The filter is centered over the carb, where on Buell applications, the hamcan is offset forward for knee clearance. But even with the Buell specific hamcans like the race kit filter, the cover still interfered with my right knee... resulting in a crack in $$$ carbon fiber. If knee clearance is a major issue (like with me) then a Forcewinder (or it's equivalent) is the only option that I've found. | ||

Bigsamm, how tall are you? I have a regular 2002 M2 and I'm 6'2" w/ a 34 inseam. I don't hit my bread box. Maybe its my corbon seat? | ||

6'1" - with the stock seat...I think a seat replacement might be a little bit more $$$...but I could be wrong. Either way, I think i'd prefer to lose that big guy on the side. Any mechanical reasons as to why I shouldn't? | ||

I got the Airtech Superbike fairing for my M2 and I could not get it to fit properly. It was ment for an S1, but clearance for my clipons was the biggest problem. I wound up having to ditch it and just run the tail (which also didn't fit very well). Just a heads up. I am running a Crossroads Maliair air cleaner, and I have plenty of clearance for my knee. | ||

Im 6'1'' and have an S&S teardrop air cleaner on mine. My knee hits it once in a while, but I have peg relocaters that move my pegs up a bit, so whatever thats worth. | ||

Forcewinder intake. Makes better hp than no cleaner at all when tested on the dyno, and gives as much/ more clearance than any other. You'll need to grind out the bowl vent to the specs of the old cast unit so it doesn't starve for fuel at the top of the RPM range. Took me a total of 5 minutes to do mine. Check out NRHS for dyno results and the bowl vent mod. | ||

I just had the CV carb Blueprinted for my bike. All Midrange flatspots gone. NO CV Hiccup. Bike ROARS. I have a S&S Desperado Air cleaner and K&N Filter. | ||

Talk to Wally, It is his business. He can do any level of rebuild to blueprinting. Located in Sunbury, PA. Less than 1/2 price of a Mikuni. Instead of just giving you drivability of the Mikuni it also gives you a few more horses. cvrebuild@hotmail.com I found him on EBAY but contacted him privately.   |
