I've had gel grips on my Cyclone, and they were just "okay". Currently using Buell's Traction Grips, which are a huge improvement - comfortable barrel shape, good vibration damping, long lasting, and they're only around $16 if I'm not mistaken.

+1 on the Tractions and if you ever ride when it's cold out a heated grip kit from asb comes in handy. Around $30 IIRC.

16 dollars isn't bad at all and they come with a throttle tube. Right now, I am using Progrip Superbike grips and I like them a lot. They are slim, but comfortible and you feel the bike pretty good.

I've found that if grips are too 'spongy' they'll make my hands and forearms more tired in spirited riding.

Everyone is different though... that's why they make stinky cheese.

I like HARD cheese -- dried jack, yum. I work for a cheese plant so I get to try all sorts of stuff!

Traction grips : 11 out of 10!

Actually I use the traction grips - the condom is for cruise control, if you don't believe me just ask Court!

American Sport Bike says that heated grip kit will not work with the traction grips. I do have a set that is about to go on. Really I fly with fingerless gloves that have gell support in them. I forget the maker but they are made of deerskin. Someone here in the USA makes them. This week I have misplaced mine and the car has been down so I have work has allowed me to ride the bike to the shop. Even after 25 miles my right hand went a little num from the vides on one day. Other days no problem but the vibes are there. Either wear the gloves or go with the tractions. So far I can say they look good and others have gave thumbs up too. Price is right to boot!

i cant remember the name off the top of my head, but if you go on ebay and find the grips that are clearish in color and they say gsxr and r6 under the clear. i want to say they are harris. they come in two american flag patterns and for 20 bucks you get your moneys worth! i was always a cheapo and never bought them because i thought they were a gimmic, but they are very high quality. they are more on the hard side for comparison, but gloves stick to them very well.

I like Renthal roadrace full diamond soft grips.

Use the hairspray trick instead of grip glue. Get some aerosol hairspray and spray the inside of the grip and a little on the bar. It will help it slide on when wet and then the hairspray will react just a little with the rubber on the grip.

It will keep them on but allow you to remove them without hassle when time to change.

I can affirm that the heated grip kit from Al doesn't work on with the traction grips (and I thought it was just me)

The grips are nice, they helped with my carpal tunnel, till I got the surgery anyways.

Mbsween, what happened that yours didn't work? I currently have the tractions with the heated grip kit and they work together. Been on there for several years now.

I'll go check out asb and see if I can find where it says they won't work together.

Ahhhh I see said the blind man.

Mine were purchased before they started pre-gluing the throttle tube in there. Soooo, if you could get a pair without the tube then it would work. No harm, no foul.
