Pulled the bike out to head to work last night and discovered a nail in the middle of my rear tire. I was planning on getting new tires this week anyway, but this has greatly accelerated my schedule. I'm going to be hunting down a set of Diablo Stradas today and trying to get 'em mounted this afternoon. However, the front wheel is still firmly planted on the garage floor. The rear wheel is 4" up on a swingarm stand, and generally not an issue, but how do I lift the front end without a front end stand? Not enough time to order a stand at this point, so I'll have to figure out a way around it. Is there a safe place under the motor to jack it up with a floor jack just long enough to get the wheel off and axle back in and on jackstands?

bottle jack under case/shock mount. use a piece of wood between to stabilize and/or keep the cases safe (don't want to poke any holes)

Ok, perhaps I should have mentioned that this ain't my first rodeo and asked how to lift the front end without the front end stand I welded up a few years ago and have since misplaced. Caliper is off, axle is loose, just have to get the tire off the ground, drop the wheel, and get everything stable enough to sit there for 24 hours until I can get the tires mounted and have time to put the wheels back on. Hopefully that'll be this afternoon, but it'll likely be tomorrow before I have a chance to bolt it back together.

Everything's back together. Wound up with M3s due to lack of a Z6 to fit the front. Hopefully I'll get more than 3k miles out of the rear. Front brake feels like new now, no idea why except maybe that it's clean. All the pistons were free enough to push them in by hand. Could just be that the rotor buttons needed cleaning and reseating. The rotor itself was flat enough (couldn't see a warp with the redneck surface block). The hardest part was picking myself up off the floor after getting the bill ; )
