You absolutely did not. I keep close contact with the EFB Design Group and just wanted to make certain you got what you needed quickly.

I suspect you'll find EFB Service to be the best in the motorcycle industry. It **IS** what ALL customer service should be.

Enjoy!

That's an understatement. Tom is all over the world . . . he may be in Africa doing 100 "slap down" hot weather wheelies on your next Buell at the moment. Leave a message for him, you'll hear back. If you are in a bind for anything drop me a note and we can expedite.

You're going to love the RS-1200.

Hank, great find on the Westwind and am glad you scored one. The first Buell I ever saw was a RS-1200 in PA and I read everything I could about Buells until I was able to afford one.

There is one in Colorado Springs that has 111 miles on it. I saw it when they brought it into to shop and it had been stored in a barn all these years, and looked like hell. If it was going for the price you picked yours up for I would have been in a lot of trouble bringing yet another Buell home. I think they want 15 grand for it. It looks great since they cleaned it up but all the seals are bad and all the gaskets were leaking. They are selling it as a collectable, I would rather ride the socks off of it than have it sit in a showroom.

If your journey takes you through the Southern Rockies let me know. You are more than welcome to stop by and have a cold one.

I would have to go count links. Slack, hmmmmm

Rear wheel is only a 4.5" width. I would stick with a 160 and the front is the standard 120. My RS actually likes the Metzeler Z6 Roadtec.

Oil cap, not sure I fill to the mark and sound

Primary is same same for any sporty

as for plugs, engine is shrouded, but a lot of air is funneled through

Fuel, 3 gal but expect to be stopping at the 100 mi mark

Fuel filter? Not going to have much room to add one and not have it lower than the carb

brake fluids are DOT 3 or 4

It is on reserve when the switch is lighted

Look in the tank for floater/loose stuff. I am fortunate in that mine is not losing its coating.

AND it is not like any other Buell you have ridden. Just look at where your arse sits compared to the S2. It will respond well to a gentle hand and it will get up and go. Think your corners carves through. Pick a line and it will hold it easily. You will hit 90 and not even think you are there. It should have a sweet spot at 80 for cruising. It will let you know if you get to close to a big truck!

I just wonder what my 92 would feel like with my S1 mill in it....

The switch will illuminate when on RESERVE. I have LOTS of photos if you need them. See what brand of choke lever you have. It will be from a bicycle company. Also, some bikes had a decal, showing choke function, on the bodywork adjacent . . some did not.

I run a 160 rear tire, 120 front. If I was running bias plys, I'd run 170s, that's what came stock. 36lbs pressure seems good to me.

Chain slack? 1 1/2" to 2" unloaded. I think 106 links, but count 'em.

My bike says Dot5 required.

6R12 plugs

oiltank capacity is 3.0 quarts

Trans is 1.5 pints

I fill my gas tank to the bottom of the rubber seal, when I switch to reserve, I fill it back up with 2.7 gallons.

I have a 5/16 billet filter in line to the Super E.

Coincidence?

I think not.

Thx Guys....
I like Dot 5 fluid, no eat paint...
Not sure whats in tho..
I picked up a 110 x 530 Oring for it today...Cut to fit, Plus i grabbed a set of cheap throw over saddlebags...Tool storage and a few brewskies....They are actually kinda nice insulated cordura type made for a horse {Pegausus?}
My Bro in law told me the rear brake pedal sticks in the down ward position, so, Im prob gonna have to clean the cylinder up first as well as change fliuds , chain etc...
I thought a 4 speed sporty used about 40 Ozs in the primary/trans....
The 91 plus use a litre...
I will my bro in alw to flick the switch for res, and see if it lights up...Plus Im gonna grab a few snowmobile in line fuel filters to take along....
Heres a pic of the dash/mileage etc....Is the knob in the centre for speedo trip?
Anyhow, this bike is becoming to much fun already, and I dont even have it yet....Lol
Buellholic Addiction....hankb

Bryan's right, the '90 book says DOT3 or 4, I've had 5 in mine for 11 or 12 years at least, I can report no problems.: )

It also says 1.5 on the trans, I think you're right about the 40 oz.

Your pic shows the switch in the run position, if it was on my bike. Mine has the sticker on it.

Yep, black cylinders, I blasted what was left of it off mine, last time I changed base gaskets.

I'm not sure about the reset knob, mine is off to the left.

It's a different animal, but my S1W (bought with 1100 miles on it in 6/06) fuel tank paint didn't bubble until I put fresh gas in it. Something with the new additive blends that can wreak havoc with the linings of the older tanks...I'd keep an eye out for floaters once you start running fresh (additive-laced) fuel through it.

So whats the cure?
Put Kreem in it or?
Ive done that with metal rusty tanks and it worked well....

I now have gotten the luck of a lifetime...

A friend of mine is passing right thru where my sis lives , with an empty 1 ton dually...he is going to bring the RS home for me for a very reasonable fee...Like alot less than just my Air ticket woulda costed....Bike will be here around June 3rd..

I think thats prob best anyhow, as Im not 100% sure it woulda bin good ta go 1300 miles...

My Bro In law says the rear brake master sticks down etc....Probly full of crustys from sitting...
So, The load and deliver sounded the best route ...Hb

Just put 500 miles on mine yesterday. Just a we bit sore today. I think I need to send the shock out for some TLC. That and pull the side plates off to check the isolators real good. Been getting some thunks out of it when two up or hitting a bad bump.

iirc Kreem is not the answer you seek.

I can not quite remember what Josh had to go through.

I think another gasket decided to let go on mine. Got to do a good wash job and start looking hard.

Either its a gasket or the heads are venting real good!

Whatever they used at the factory for tank liner seemed to turn into rather large light pink-colored flakes. Those reduced to smaller light pink-colored flakes.

That's what was in my '91 tank that I sold as part to the set of complete bodywork last year.

You'd need to get any and all of the loose stuff out before using new sealer. Kreem brand use to be 'the bomb' for sealing tanks "back in the day" before all of the gas reformulations. Not so sure it's as workable now. My friend Wilson Planke at the Indian shop in Fullerton CA has a rig that he bolts the gas tank to and it works like a biggass tumbler that scours the inside of the tank with misc. nuts, bolts and stuff. (a thorough count of objects going into and then out of the tank is recommended!)

He used some special aircraft spew to seal the tank after that, not Kreem, though.
