I have done a compression test on my 99 X1 today and it seem for now goes good.

My X1 has 44.000 miles on it, (Race ECM, C.F. Oval Air Cleaner with K&N air filter and Vance & Hines muffler).

The readings of the front cylinder are 170 PSI and the rear 167PSI.

Service Manual says "compression is normal if final readings are 120 PSI or more and do not indicate more than a 10 psi variance between cylinders.

I Think the engine is fairly good.

What do you think?....

I think you need to ride it more and measure it less ; )

As cams and valvetrain components wear, static compression can rise dramatically.

Engine leakdown is usually more accurate.

But I doubt you have any issues. I had almost exactly the same numbers on mine at 4000 miles!
