Historically, it's been done before.

Successfully? I dunno.

AARON!

what are you cooking up now ?
If you come up with a constant tension device (no springs) please share!
BTW one of the new belts is the correct length to fit a tube frame buell

I think it would work. Just make sure that pulley is dead straight!!!

FWIW, 2009 GM vehicles (being introduced on the Hummer) will be coming out with a BELT drive with NO TENSIONER!

We're seeing the next generation of belt drive technology -- so your belt will soon never require ANY adjustment...

I didn't think these belts were to be bent back wards? That would be my only concern, not sure where I herd that though.

thanks guys,, i would switch but my current belt is still strong and fine,, plus i have a almost new spare.
i dont want to set a constant tension "still want a little slack" but just remove some of the "back lash". and keep it more consistent threw the swing arm travel.

bad karma, had herd the same? but dont know fact from fiction..
is the bent backwards over "?" radius ok?

have a million other projects to do.. but the back lash has been bothering me. probably because i had to increase it for the increased swingarm travel,, ugh.

They can be bent backwards to a certain degree, about a 6" diameter circle at the max, BUT I may be wrong on that.

They used to come with a sheet that had a picture on it.
