The hard chrome on my rear pulley is chipped in a few places and I need to replace it shortly. Do Sportster ones of similar years have the same bolt patterns and offset? I like the look of the new Nightster one so I might have to hit a showroom with my digital caliper and do a little measuring. I am an Aussie so I will be after the 55 tooth rather than the 61.

Any ideas/suggestions from the knowledgable folk around here?

If you have chrome on a Buell pulley it is probably a pulley cover. Should be able to just remove it. If you must have shiny parts you can polish the stocker up. The center of a Buell pulley is not the same size as the sporty, although I don't know the measurements on either.

Are you talking about the chrome inside the channel that the belt runs through?

Yep, the hard chrome on the actual pulley teeth is what is chipping off in places. I imagine that it will have an effect on the belt if I leave it too long.

FullAuto,

The inside diameter of the pulley is larger on the Buells. I will go out and measure the one I took off of my 2001 X-1 with PM wheels, and will report back later today.
I would closely check the measurements on the new bikes.

If that's the only difference then I shouldn't have any problems. Just get the centre machined larger. That should give a bigger choice.

FullAuto,

The inner diameter should be machined to a diameter of 2.464 inches to fit the PM wheels on the tube frame Buells. Sorry for the delay obtaining the exact measurement.
