Since many of us have this bike with similar intake and exhaust, I am very confident it is not a tuning issue.
The power commander will not fix a broken sensor and has generally received poor reviews here.

Several knowledgeable guys have said it is probably the ET sensor, why not just put a new one in?

I still strongly believe that fixing this system will be less work that switching everything out (though it seems like that is what you really want to do regardless).

ECM SPY will do what the power commander wishes it could do and it will do it at a very low cost. it will also let you read codes, reset the TPS and AFV and will even give you a snapshot of what your sensors are reading. Why not give it a try?

So far im still undecided...I would like to make it work, but am just not sure..
Every thing checks out by testing as Ok..
I am 60 miles from a dealer, and they do not stock anythin Buell..so thats another 120 mile return trip to find out whaddddup..
Gotta think about this all for a bit, and make sure im not over lookin at somethin obviuos...
I wasnt sure about the power commander, but bought it relatively cheap on ebay, so figured it maybe a solution...
So far, its still in the mail system...
Guess, I am so used to simplicity of carbs and minimal wiring etc, that I tend to lean to it...Anyhow, thx for all the input and we will see what today brings ...Hankb...

Unless your Buell dealer comes recommended for service by others here, I have zero confidence that they will be able to quickly and affordably diagnose your problem.

Distance, expense, lack of parts and not knowing if your mechanic "really" knows Buell or not is why most of us with tubers do all of our own work.

Service manual
ECP SPY
Al at American Sportbike

Above is all you need beyond what you already have to service this bike yourself.
My parts department is the receiving department at work. They have everything I need as quickly as I need it!

If you like to learn, the DDFI isn't that complicated. If you like I can e-mail you a paper discussing it's functions and the ECM SPY tuning guide explains even more.

ECM SPY may seem intimidating when you 1st look into it, but downloading the program and a driver and making your own cable honestly is VERY easy! So put the PC back on e-bay and get that cable made!

Hell, from when you 1st posted this thread you could already have one made and been
diagnosing your bike yourself. what's more satisfying than that?

PS - you are only 4 years older than me, so don't give me that "old guy" crap as an excuse not to learn something new! ; )

I guess that explains why you want to switch to a carb too you old geezer!; )

Hey I hear that with a total loss oiling system you never have to worry about bothersome oil pumps, filters or changing your oil! I've even heard you can put spark advance right on your handlebars!

Kick starts, point style ignitions and carburetors as "upgrades"....you guys are killing me!

if you need parts, call american sportbike. forget about the local dealer. i would invest in the ecm spy ware or the program i have that you can reset the TPS yourself. Well worth the money. When the injection works, it works great. Just figuring out what is wrong stumps the old carb guys(including me) as far as having an old computer, you can buy a used or trade in laptop pretty reasonable. Will save you pulling hair out. I strongly second what scott said

Hey Guys....I just got back from the dealer appt:.
We corrected the problem with my DDFI..
Scott sent me some info and bulletins...
I made the dealer follow al the TPS settings etc....The AFV was at 113...we reset to 100, the TPS was way off with 2 trouble codes in history, the IAT had a troble code in history and so did the ET...
The bike runs like a top, and goes like hell..
The dealer copied my info and now said, maybe thats what was wrong with the last one i tried to set up...Go figure...
Anyhow, A big THX to all you helped and for convincing me that DDFI isnt that complicated and worth while to savvy over a carb conversion...I still plan on setting myself up for ECM spy, and learn more about this new school stuff...
Thx Scott, Rat, and all the rest of ya...
Hankb..
