I found a local guy who does ceramic coating. I was thinkin of getting my header and muffler done as my V&H is SOOOOOOOO loud(brand new). This fella cant do the inside of the header(no dip tank) but has done very nice work. Has anyone else had their stock muffler ceramic coated? Opinions....

I had my Uly muffler done. I love it. Cheap too, I think it was $55. I'd love to have the headers done too, but I don't want to take them off the bike. They aren't so cheap, as that is an inside/outside coating.

Thanks Jim.
How did it stand up?? This local fella cant do the inside of pipes yet. Am I wasting my coin by just doing the outside of my header??

I is standing up well. It was difficult to get the muffler back on the bike, and we used a hammer to persuade it. No chips from that, so this stuff is tough.

I don't think you're wasting your time, though it would obviously be better to coat both sides. If you coat the headers black, there is a noticeable increase in radiated heat. If you're just going to do the outside, I wouldn't use black, as single sided black would worse than double from a heat stand point.
