I've scored one on ebay!! : D

I know it's a very rare item.
Does anyone know the history behind these callipers?
Was it some kind of special pro series edition?
How many was there made?

know it's a very rare item. - Kinda. It was an answer to an unasked question.

Does anyone know the history behind these callpers? - Yes. And someone still has all the original engineering drawings, parts lists and e-mail discussion about discontinuing the "kit".

Was it some kind of special pro series edition? - No it was not.

How many was there made? - several dozen.

Yeah . . but you'd have to dig through 9 huge cases of paperwork in my basement. Every time I dig through it I find something interesting.

By the way . . . . other than "looks" the 2nd caliper does nothing but adds weight, slows the rebound and the bike takes longer to stop.
