Well I finally had a chance to do some riding and put some miles on my new to me M2 Cyclone.
She is not a smooth as the XB putting around town or making tight maneuvers in parking lots or on the streets. But, she is amazing on the highway! Soooo comfy and smoooooth just humming along at 90mph coming down 95 from Daytona. Daytona to Fort Lauderdale via 95 south took me exactly four hours. That is including one stop for gas and a quick lunch. My record is 3.5 hours aboard the XB12R and thats stopping every 100 miles for gas. I think overall the Tuber has a little more personality than the XB and is far more comfortable and has a longer cruising distance with that fuel tank on her. I'm in love!

My 2002 M2 is sweet.

I am a tall rider and most bikes just don't fit but my M2 is very comfortable.

Have fun.

as far as power and torque , how does the tuber compare to your xb? ( I have never ridden an xb)

i just bought an xb9 and im amazed at the power... it has a race kit on it as does my S=3.. the xb9 i think is at least as fast as the 3, which really suprises me.. ive never liked the xb's. until now... they are a mechanical marvel actually..

The XB is the more dominant motorcycle of the two. The handling, torque, power delivery and smoothness can not be beat by the Tuber. But, I don't really miss my XB all that much. I have owned many different makes, models and styles of bikes. Out of all of them, I keep coming back to Buell. My M2 that I picked up recently makes fives Buells total owned.

Werewolf, hmmmm thats good to hear....maybe I will have to look over some xb9's in that case. I think it may be time to upgrade this spring. If a 9 is as strong as my m2 I will seriously look at some used ones as well as 12's.thanks

when the xb9 came out, i wondered what was buell thinking to put a wimp thing like that out with 984cc... im here to tell you, with a race kit they really go... oh well, so i was wrong again..

If you think the 9's go, then try a 12! Power wheelies in firt-third gears are great fun. My XB12R was by far the most fun bike I ever owned. Big smiles every time I rode that thing. But, I needed to slow down a little. Now I just cruise and am happy to do a ton (100mph) on my M2.

im a pretty conservative rider, i just like to go thru the gears when no one is around....now im curious what nallin head work could do for this thing...
i can do 500 mile days on my tuber, but the xb is probably good for a hundred max..

I had to stop every 100 miles on the XB for gas and I needed to get off that thing at about that time anyway. The M2 is good for about 160 miles, but I can ride that thing all day. I rode back from Daytona (4 hours) and felt great when I got home. Where as with the XB I would be tired as hell. That M2 is happy on the highway, buzzing along at 90mph and so am I!
