Does anybody have a picture of the choke bracket on a M2 or early S3? I switched my 1999 S3 to carburetor but the dealer is clueless when it comes to a choke cable bracket. I ordered a 1999 M2 upper motor mount but it's the same as my 99 S3.

Kevin
I'm interested in the same due to carb conversion also. Might try a 98 S1. What is the dealer asking for that upper mount?

you need p/n 32557-98Y which attaches to the upper motor mount(holds only the enricher cable).

OR

p/n 32470-96Y which holds the ignition switch and enricher cable.

The enricher knob will be facing 180 from the back of the carb.

how did you deal with the FI fuel tank when you converted your S-3? did you change tanks?

This part does not show up on the breakdown pics. It is in the back of the parts book with a bunch of other misc parts.

Either of these just bolt to the upper motor mount. The stock enricher cable will be just long enough to reach it and get secured.

Nutz...

I might have a spare laying around the garage. I'll try to remember to check tomorrow.

Well Dave at first i removed the fuel pump assembly. Then took the regulator apart, then removed the fuel pump leaving the base intact. The low fuel light still works this way. The only problem is that i can't turn the fuel off. Now i'm switching tanks to a M2. I bought a kit from Drag Specialties to switch new harley tanks to a petcock and plug the wiring harness hole but it wasn't quite right.
Dennis if you have a choke bracket i'll take it. Just let me know what you need for it.

Something to think about...my '95 S2 has the choke knob in front of the ignition switch, tucked up under the lower fairing. Kinda a PITA to reach when I have the fairings on... My '98 S1W has the choke knob behind the ignition switch, easier reach with the hand...but also with the knee. IIRC my '99 M2 had it behind, like on the S1W.

Think about where you want the knob, you can pretty much order the piece you need to tailor the fit.

My ignition switch is in the dash on my S3. But i do have the horn in the way. I'm definitely going to mount it towards the rear head area.

X1's had the horn near the front head. IIRC, they had a bracket on the frame that allowed this, but you might check.

I'm pretty sure my M2 had a frame-mounted horn as well. I know my S1W does, up by the coil.

My horn is behind my coil. It is mounted to the frame. But with that said, between the horn and the fuel filter the only room i have is towards the rear head. Well with the new tank i won't have to worry about the inline can style fuel filter that i now have.
