I am looking to wrap my headers this spring, but I would like some input from some guys who have already done this. Where did you buy your wrap? Does brand matter? How long, how wide? Did you use hose clamps, or something else? I hear there is a paint you can put over your wrap to hold the color longer? Any information on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Local auto parts store. Fifty feet of two inch wide covered my Cylone's header with about ten feet to spare, and I used a one inch average overlap in lieu of the recommended 1.4" overlap. No stain for me, but have seen some who have used it that look great.

If you are all wrapped up (pun intended) on looking pretty, the wrap may not be for you.

I use it to kill the heat and I think it looks kinda badass in a that terminator/borg kinda way. : )

Just finished mine up not long ago and used the one inch. Got it from Amazon.com, 100 ft. roll and didn't have much left over, that was the cheapest place I found it. It works the best if you dampen it a little, I tried it wet and dry and wet worked the best. I've got some pics if you're interested, just pm me.

I also used hose clamps, you'll find others have used other means of fastening. It basically boils down to personal preference and what you have access to.

I used black 2" x 50' from Summit Racing. Overlapped about 1", used hose clamps, installed it wet. Been on there for about a season and a half and getting ready to repaint it (I used black wrap, it's bleaching out) but other than that, I'm very happy with it. In addition to the hose clamps, I also schmeared some ultra-hi-temp RTV on the ends to keep them from fraying.

Just finished wrapping mine. Got the kit from Al at American Sport Bike. Wrapped it wet; somewhat messy but went well. Used the clamps in the kit, but I may change to hose clamps. +1 on the ultra-hi-temp RTV, wished I had used it. Just makes the ends look more tidy.

The two ends at the top can be hidden completely. If you start two or three inches below your actual starting point, wrap up to the starting point then double back on it the ends will be protected by an overlapping layer and won't er... well, they'll have a harder time fraying.
