Just a friendly FYI, if you're close to the 30,000 mile mark, make sure you check the pull throttle cable at the throttle body. Mine was hanging on by one thread... the only way I found it was that I removed it from the throttle body while doing a cable lubrication. |

While you're at it, check the butterfly mounting rod on FI bikes. Mine broke, jamming the throttle open. Made for an exciting few minutes. |

Sloppy My 99 had a recall for throttle cables. At 25000 the return cable had started to fray. joe |

BUELLers: If there is any kind of a BIND in the cables THEY WILL FRAY !!! You'll should LUBE your throttle cables EVERY 2 YEARS and HANDLEBAR THROTTLE GRIP ... In BUELLing LaFayette |

Ironic. The only cable I've had break on me is the NEW clutch cable I installed when my bike had 25,000 miles on it (the original cable had stared leaking though the sheath). The new cable only lasted 10,000 miles before it broke(!) and I wound up installing the old leaking clutch cable again until I could get another new one. |

I never submitted to the X1 throttle cable recall.They did fray a little though and i replaced them a couple years ago.Careful adjustment and lube allows greater life |
