So, American Sport Bike has a lot of really nice stuff available. I'm just trying to figure out what to add. The first farkle is a combined LED brake/turn signal that will eliminate the rear turn signals. I'll also add front LED turn signals (Cat eyes). Where to go from here? |

The race only ECM seems to add to the experience. Some like the aftermarket exhaust (I don't need the extra attention from the authorities). Good riding gear is always a plus. There are a lot of possible mods from appearance to performance. Let us know what you are interested in. Boiler |

Don't know what you've done so far but I see you reside in Iowa. Definitely check out American Sport Bike's heated grip kit and new grips while you're in there. Also if you ever need a horn check out the Stebel Nautilus, 139db dual tone air horn, $50 shipped with all needed wiring and relay, really lets the cagers know you're there. And the usual suspects of goodies; race ecm, K&N filter, aftermarket exhaust... |

Alright, so here's what I ordered today... Tuono mirrors x 2 Brake Light Modulator Billet frame sliders Black anodized bar ends Silver anodized header pipes w/ core exchange 8mm Spark Plug Wires Cat Eye LED turn signals LED turn signal flasher to add to the LED taillight with built in turn signals. That should pretty it up nicely. Probably throw a Corbin seat on there as well. Any suggestions for an oil cooler? |

If you haven't done so already, I'd get rid of the 'pregnant guppy' airbox and scoop and get an airfilter of your choice and the tank accents to close out the tank cover. |

Took a look at those tank accents - I think I'm going to stick with the pregnant guppy look. |

Not that there's anything wrong with that. |

No need for an oil cooler. Just run a good quality Syn and keep it clean. Oil coolers only work when you're moving, most bikes overheat during idle or stop and go driving. My X1 has never overheated and actually runs best when it's hot. I w/ fix the known issues B4 getting "beauty" items. Check the KV for your particular bike. |

Hi, I vote for keeping the side pods on the bike. Lots of people strip them off, but I like them and the bulbous look. I would keep stock airbox, and not mess with having to route breather lines and to a catch tank. Here is what I suggest: - Used Supertrapp slip on. Saw nice one here guy wanted $225 for, good deal. Make sure all the mounting hardware is included. - Hyperpro fork springs and fresh synthetic oil. Much less brake dive and better ride. - Fender eliminator kit for back. Dont buy all kinds of expensive carbon parts. Keep all your stock hugger fenders and parts. - Buell select seat, or used Corbin. They pop up on E-bay. Corbin has a larger seat pocket, that slides you back some, and is on firm side. Corbin is good when you tuck down for more aggressive riding, gives you more room. Buell Select seat is more "cushy" but very nice too. I like the Corbin a lot. - New rear shock. Penskey or Works Performance. Lots of $$ but single best improvement you can make to ride quality. If you plan to keep the bike and put on lots of miles I highly suggest up grading rear shock. There you go! Good luck, I love my x-1! Christian |

"kv" is the Knowledge Vault, another part of this board with valuable information. |

In my opinion: 1. chop tail - Home-made $6 2. aftermarket exhaust- D&D $300 3. race ecm- Buell $180 4. free-flowing intake- Buell $145 5. *debatable* PowerCommander and Hi-Perf O2 sensor- I have it and like it - others do not like it. PowerCommander $300 All are easy to do yourself (except the race ecm which requires a TPS reset) and relatively inexpensive. The nice thing is you can do these one at a time or all at once. |
