is an s-3 tail section a bolt on for the m-2 frame?? i want an s-3, but a pristine m-2 that ive found is inviting... i look like a monkey humping a football on a short bike like an M-2... if it was a bolt on deal, maybe i could buy an m-2 and put the longer s-3 tail on it... with all the people parting out their buells maybe i could find the parts...

no not a direct bolt on you would need to fab it to be like that of an s3. is the bike a low model, you know how to tell right?

I have a S3 that i cut the rear of the frame to put an M2 tail on. Then the bike got recked and i bought a S3 tail from ebay. The tail bolts on the same way the only thing different is the tail light support. The rear section of the frame holds the lamp housing in place. I cut the loop off the rear, had two frame plugs made to slide inside. Then get some tubing and a couple pieces of scrap steel plate and your almost there. I wouldn't trust it to hold factory saddle bags but my throw overs work fine.

very interesting.. did you have to do any cutting or welding on the M-2 frame? or just the S-3 part?

don't blame you there. although i went from tampa to lafayette louisiana to pick up the m2 i have now. orange/gray scheme, and i just wanted to have one to replace the one that got totalled when my daughter got hit. i could have gotten one for a little less but it was up in new york. didn't feel like going all the way up there.
