Just like the title says, will you ever sell your tube frame buell,I for one can say no I will never sell it, it gives me that much enjoyment that no matter how old i get it will remain, as long as i can get parts into the next say 50+ years it will be rode often.

Short answer - No.

I'm actually in a current search for a cheap commuter bike as I'm racking up too many miles on the M2. Want to make sure the old girl lasts as long as possible.

My X1 is worth more to me now than it's actually worth to sell.
Besides, it has too many miles to bother selling.
No one in their right mind would buy it : )
I am however buying a XB12X this spring.

Thats why I don't mind the low resale value, because I only want to buy them, never sell.

While I would like to think I will be keeping my M2 for a good, long, while, I'm old enough to know "never say never".

One just doesn't know what time and circumstance can do you.

Short answer: No, but subject to change...

I agree with Jayvee - Never say never! I sold my S1... because I found another S1 that I wanted! With the current crop of bikes available, I don't anticipate ever selling my Buell. I will say that the mechanical failures that I've experienced lately have dampened my enthusiasm. If another manufacturer was able to capture the essence of the S1 with more hp and reliability I would buy it! Of course, Buell may end up doing that with the naked version of the 1125, but I'm not holding my breath.

It would be nice to keep my S1 and supplement it with a second bike, but it's hard for me to justify owning 2 similar bikes.

I've had my '99 S3 for sale for awhile but have turned down a couple of offers. I don't really want to sell it and would like to get it back someday after the buyer is ready to move on to something else.
I ran across a great deal on an '06 VFR and the wife said my Buell had to go after I bought it. A guy at work originally was going to buy the S3 but backed out.

It's (96 S1) the only bike I can honestly say I will never sell! Too many fun memories over the years while creating my own style.

I have slowly been stockpiling parts form my M2 that are Buell specific. The engine I am not worried about since they will sell Sportster parts forever. However, I have an additional 2 full sets of bodywork, a swingarm, and some other odds and ends sitting in the rafters of my garage.

I still think my tube frame gets more looks then most sportbikes when parked on the street. Who would want to give up such a fun bike?

It is a little ironic, that choppers are fading off. Last year the moco announced a couple of chopper like new models. Both of which suffered in areas like handling and braking for the efforts to create the design.

Now the moco has released yet another this year, another soft tail with an alphabet soup model name I can't remember, a soft tail that looks like a early chopper.

So what will all the custom chopper guys be doing now? Building chrome plated replicas of the current model year's stuff? Will there be an OCC Buell?

Jack

OCC Buell??? uuuuugggghhhhh

It's a funny position Harley is in. They make classic looking bikes. How do you modernize or develop new classic looking bikes? To me Harley is starting to look alot like Taco Bell. They make tons of new and "different" products using the same basic ingredients for everything.

"Until you die"

Dang, that sounds so "boat anchor hanging from your neck" like.

We know not what tomorrow holds in store for us. Some things we leave behind as we travel through life, some things we hang onto, somethings that we've left in the past we re-discover again and anew. Do I like my Buells? Yep. Would I ever sell them? Sure. Would I be sad to see them go? Somewhat. Would I get over it? Sure. Got one for sale right now, will possibly go piece by piece. Would I sell the S2 instead of selling or parting out the M2? Sure, if the price or terms were right. Can I see myself keeping either or both of them until the day I die? Sometimes. Would I be okay with that? Sure, no problem. A bike is a bike, enjoy the one you've got.

(I think I'll get out of range now before someone throws a rock at me.)

I've been riding constantly since 1976 and I've never kept a motorcycle as long as my 2000 M2. This summer will make it 8 years!

No reason to sale a tuber. It does the job very well, can be modified if you like. It has a soul that few bikes can match.

Won't say never, but sure not tired of the S-2 yet.It has been through 4 different engine set-ups if you include the original, and has been made over completely twice, not to mention all of the other assorted mods, been cross country, at trackdays, Battletrax, the saltflats. Heck,I have not had a new bike since buying it new, just an assortment of second bikes.
