Yeah, I know, been a long time since I been online... hell, my last post was trying to sell the bike...

But, so far, I have recovered financially from the divorce... at least, enough to not worry about selling the bike anymore...

Anyway, finally dealt with the last series of oil leaks, which... were basically mystery leaks..

Well, seems my pressure hose from the oil pump, to the filter housing was leaking... BUT, only while hot, under heavy load, which, made it VERY difficult to find...

Well, I ended up converting all my lines, to -6 with JIC(AN) fittings... as one of the lines coming from the oil bag had a nick in it, and was seeping as well...

Anyway, I am completely leak free finally...

So, here are some pics... of the lines..

Then, some new pics of the scoot... next step, figure out a better solution for the dash... But, need bigger injectors and turbo for the PowerSmoke first...

The bike is still looking pretty sweet, nice timing cover... Glad to see you got to keep it. I just started checking in again on Badweb but I must be getting old, I only look at the Old School section these days.

The oil lines look nice. It makes me want to start working on my bike again...

Thank you sir. You know, I do the same thing, only check Old School, the rare times I do come online...

And I have also been telling myself, I need a Derby cover done as well, by the person who did a BAD ASS job on the timing cover...

Nice bike! Where'd ya get the headlights? How much $$? I'm sure you've never been asked that before.

, Nope, never been asked... haha..

Bought'em at PepBoys, 60ish(angle eyes and strobes, though that went to hell the first time it rained), I bought other bulbs(100W and 60), adn wired them in..

Welcome back Jack!

Thank you sir...

Really, I did a quick search and didnt find anything recent...

But, I made the all the lines, but the pressure side, becuase there werent any more -6 straight fittings available locally, and I wanted to ride, only cost 13 bux for that line to be made..

For the rest, its AeroQuip -6, teflon lined, stainless braided high pressure line.. avaerage 10-15 bux a foot.

The fittings you can see on the oil pump, are some new Mr Gasket Shadow series.. and seem to hold up well enough.. they were available locally, about 30ish for both fittings, straight, and 150*...

The other 90* fittings at the oil bag, were another 30ish, and, avail locally(all at oil field supply companies)...

To complete this set-up, you would need 5 1/8npt to -6 JIC adapters, and, 2, 1/4(I think) NPT to -6 for the oil bag...

bike looks great chase, nice work!

Thanks Tripp... far from the bike you remember huh? Ha...

And Yeah Mick, those would hurt like hell... I have gored myself a few times in the garage etc...

Thanks gentlemen...

Nice to have you back Chase! I know it was tough but you can always get away from those "blues" by coming here or wrenching on that gorgeous Buell of yours. Looking great as usual. BTW love those lines. Hope you dont mind me copying them for my X1.

I haven't been doing many Derby covers lately. I ran out of blanks and time (I got an 11 monthold daughter now). However I have been designing some T-shirts I may eventually put up on E-bay. I am thinking I may do one with the Lightning bolt/piston design. I got access to a great printer and T-shirt press.

Not at all. Let me know what You need...

I think by far, the BIGGEST pain in the a** on this, was a; getting the old lines out, and then, finding just the right way to run these lines, so there was no kinking, and no major chaffing of parts...

After that, it was mark... tape, zip... fish it through, put the fittings on(that alone can require a bit of patience), and of course, with diesel hovering 3.40 a gal here, and having to run 20-30 miles round trip to find the fittings, etc...

Not too bad really...

I COULD be persuaded to make more...if there is a desire...

BUT, you are more than welcome to venture into the dirtiest realms of your bike...

BTW, beware, you WILL HAVE TO trim the timing case...

Koz, congrats on the daughter!!!!!

Well, when you got some time, lemme know... I am patient. That timing cover is the only piece of chrome on the bike.. and its probably lasted longer than any piece of chrome I have ever seen... so as long as you can get the same quality goods, I am game... But... Obviously not a priority, since I still have the same derby cover since the crash 2 years ago.. just blasted over with satin black... hahaha

This project took a bit of time... it was something to jack with in-between the tweaks of the powersmoke...

I got lines made by Russell from Al. They went on pretty easy.

MAYBE, if I could get a carbon one pretty cheap, or for a test fit...

But, I am thinking about keeping it nekkid, and going with NO dash, and a V-Rod light...

IMO a rolled out piece of polished aluminum would tie in with the tail...I've got the mounts!

And what kinda mounts you got???

Nice job chase!!! Just make sure they're not touching the rear shock cover! Those braided lines will take the chrome off in no time.
