I also did what Josh did with his beautiful S1WL and used a right angle pipe to connect from my stock M2 header to a 2 1/2" straight through fiberglass packed muffler from Jegs or Summit for about $30.00. Added a "www.carchemistry.com" insert to quiet it down a little and add some midrange torque and hung it all from heavy springs to allow it to move some eliminating most stress on header studs. See picture below. No problems in 12K miles. Just painted as it is hidden by my full fairing. Many things can be done with car mufflers with a little inginuity and there are MANY inexpensive choices. Bob

D&D makes a perfect fit replacement for the race muffler that works great and will not break. They sell for $340 I believe.

I apologize in advance for threadjacking...

Not to talk about "Exhaust Club", but Ebay has a couple new D&D's @ $209.00 each. I snapped mine up as fast as I could...now Im just trying to gather the funds for the updated exhaust hanger.
Anyone temporarily mounted a new exhaust sans Y-hanger? Im tempted, but dont want to screw myself over. Its been over a month since Ive taken a REAL ride and its KILLING me!

I'm sure you could mount it temporarily on the old mount, but I wouldn't run it with no mount at all up front. No telling what mayhem could ensue.

I bet a D&D really crackles on a race header.
