I'd also add the Street Rod to the HD 'sportbike' debacle list. My $tealer still has an '06 they've been trying to sell for the last two years.

Must be regional, we are OUT of the Street Rod, have been for years, in the two years we had them, I sold everyone one we got. 6 of em, so they are a niche market, but they are all on the road. (theres your naked standard water cooled sport ride btw)

CityX - we've got a new VRSCR in Brandywine at our SRL. Wanna DX it? LOL. We need to sell it, or I'm gonna buy the damn thing just to have. I loved riding those at the Back to the Track II class in Vegas. Surprisingly stout bike, performed very well. Although, already owning two tubers and a cop bike, my co-workers may not let me back in the door if I bought a VRSC. Puts me over the acceptable "weird bike" quota, LOL.

it takes a few minutes for me to warm up the m2 but i also never use a choke no longer than a few seconds just to get the gas in the carb. i saw what i did to the first m2 when i would let the bike warm up with the choke and i wasn't gonna let that happen again. and after having a shovel head, i just got used to warming up the bikes but i know if i have to, i don't have to wait with the ultra or the nightster to warm up if i don't want to. and every car i had that had a carb on it got warmed up so it didn't stall as soon as i put it in drive or try to let the clutch out on it. but that's just me and i do what i think is best for my bikes

besides my daughter getting rear ended by some young girl probably talking on her phone, i had to take it in bacause of the the gasket leak on thr rocker box covers. when he pulled it off and saw how carboned up it was, the let me know what i was doing wrong and told me what i should be doing. and that was to use the choke only to get it started and to push it in right after starting and to throttle the rest of the warm up.

I always start cold on full choke, as soon as it fires I push it in far enough to get it to nearly stall, but not quite, and let it warm up there. That's usually about 1/4 choke. Once the idle is up a little higher than a hot idle (1200 or so) I'll roll out, and once I pass the last stop sign for a few miles (less than 1/2 mile from the house) the choke goes all the way in. No problems yet, no fouled plugs. Of course, when they are fully warmed up I tend to blow the carbon out pretty frequently. Purely for the motor's well-being, of course : )

of course.

even changing the force pipe out with the supertrapp and setting it up like sleez told me to, i've had no problems with my plugs(real good color) without having to make any other mods yet. as soon as i get enough miles on the rebuilt motor, i want to run it on a dyno to see what i've got under the hood now.

Had to push this to the 100 mark ;) Looks like NO announcement from the dealer meeting on the XR1200. Maybe they arent saying anything because they "wont comment on development of future products/vehicles."

I just noticed yesterday that HD bought the XR1200 name from Storz Performance (In the US). Seeing as HD had the XR1000 and XR750 names licensed, I'm betting that someone at Storz is VERY glad that they licensed the XR1200 name right now ($$). I'm also betting that was a major part of HD's decision to delay US sales of this machine. (It seems that, unlike the Japanese, HD likes it's models to be the same name worldwide)

Looking in the newest cycle mags, I was pleased to notice: There's an idler pulley on the production XR1200, like our very own XB models.
