Interesting sale . . . I have a feeling I now know where my misplaced white deep bags went in Topeka.

: )

Nah . . maybe not that nefarious. But at the time, I had a lot of test units sitting about. Recall that it would be another months before Buell made any mention of touring stuff.

I had narrow lids, think lids and a host of experimental windscreens and fairing bags.

I have tons of lids around here in a variety of colors but I'm not sure I still have bases. I'm half tempted to buy them just to get the bases back. I'm getting an itch to travel and the S2, with 111RWHP, could be a great platform.

I think the shields are long gone. I ran 3 sizes and would have to check my logs but I think they were like 2" and 3" over.

Working from memory I think the 2" was best, the 3" wasn't as good.

I'm not just looking for lids.
The entire bag assembly was long gone when I got my S2T. Actually, I didn't realize I had a T model until I got a manual and decoded the VIN. My fellow BadWeb'ers confirmed the fact by pointing out the blue-gray frame and coated side plates. I have the dropped peg mounts. I've inverted them to get cornering clearance and for comfort. Since I added the Corbin seat I tend to sit further back and the higher pegs are more comfortable that way. I'm not sure about the bars but most likely they are the T style as well.
There was a full wide-bag assembly that sold on ebay just the other day but I was reluctant to pay the full $475 buy now price and lost out on them.
At this point I'm thinking of just getting some Cortech Sport Bags since I like the looks of the bike w/o the bags and they would only be used on long hauls. The only problem there is wet riding but I can remember hearing rumors that the stock bags were prone to leak anyway and had to be tweaked to get a water-tight seal.
