So today I replaced the primary gasket on my S2. Following the instructions in the manual I tried to take off the left isolator.
However the forward bolt was extremely difficult. It was moving but I was using all the strength I had to turn it. I didn't want to take a chance stripping out the bolt so I went to the store and got some PB Blaster, sprayed it down, and gave it some time. When I went to try it again it would not budge neither in nor out.
I managed to get the job done without removing the iso plate but now I still have that one bolt half way out.
What should I do?
I'm thinking of going to get a one of those hand held bottle torches from the hardware store.
I'm just really worried about messing up the bolt.
Any advice???

Well now you know it is not necessary to take off that side plate as the manual says to get the cover off.
Try banging it with brass hammer. And a little heat won't hurt. Unfortunately the holes the bolts go into are open on the back and can get moisture and crap in them causing corrosion.

I wish I had tried a little harder to get the cover off before taking off the side plate.
That was actually my initial plan but when I had it loose it did hit on the plate and since the manual said to remove the plate (and it had also been suggested here that I would need to) I started taking off the plate.

Otherwise the job went smoothly and every thing worked fine during the short test ride.
No more Harley-esque leaks!
I only wish I had ordered an easy pull clutch lever (Muller or otherwise). But now that I've opened things up and seen how easy it is, I'm not worried about doing that job later.

Heat the head of the bolt..Then smack it using a punch or better yet a bit from an allen socket...The heat will help to loosen rust and locktight..The Muller easy clutch works great!!!!Got one in mine..!

I used a wagner heat gun on the head of the bolts for a bit and they came out real easy, give it a try.

Thanks guys.
Some heat and a tap helped real alot.
Unfortunately the BRAND NEW Stanley Allen Socket broke while I was tightening it causing me to hit myself in the face and get a fat lip.

Right On NP-S2...
A good idea is to buy some SnapOn allen & torx sockets....I mostly use Craftsman, but have boughten Certain sizes of SnapOn sockets , wrenches etc, just for undoin those common size tight assed bolts!
Slow action with an impact gun, and 99% of em come out....Rotors bolts can be a Bitch too....!!!!Hankb.
