Tonight I tried to install my new Traction Grips and bar end mirrors on my M2. The grips are fine but the eBay mirrors I bought are of pretty low quality in terms of the mounting system. It might work if the throttle grip didn't position the mirror so far from the end of the bar. Then I would also have to move the master cylinder and I don't know if that is locked in place as well. If I could slide the throttle unit farther down the bar so there was a little bit of bar sticking out of the grip (have to trim the hole in the grip bigger) then it would probably be OK but there is a locating hole that locks the throttle unit in one place on the bar. Has anyone filed off that little tit to move the throttle or used some other technique? I really want nice big old-school clubman type mirrors on there but I'm frustrated right now. Suggestions?

try not pushing the mirror all the way to the grip leave like an 1/16 between the mirror and grip

I'd recommend that you trim the throttle sleeve -- the plastic that the grip rides on. All the bar-ends that I've dealt with need a positive contact with a solid surface to work correctly. A small trim job on the grip is necessary too.

I always try to just trim the opening to get the traction grips to work with the bar ends, and always get it kinda working, only to have it start hanging up in a day or two of riding. So then I just chop it way down at the first ridge closest to the outside of the grip, at which point it stays fine forever...

Whenever I cut it down, I think "eh... that doesn't look so great". Then I proceed to never notice it for the next 10k miles until I replace the grips again...
