Author Message   Brinnutz Posted on Thursday, October 11, 2007 - 04:47 am:        Ok, so I was out riding hard last Friday (the day before I separated my shoulder, no riding for me now!), when all of the sudden I see a puddle of oil at a light under me and my back tire looks like someone's put TireWet on it. Well, my shock is covered in oil, and it seems to be coming for the cam cover maybe? Not sure yet as I can't really crawl around well. But, was wondering if this may be common or I royally f'ed something up. If I did, this bike won't be fixed for maybe a year.....   Smoke Posted on Thursday, October 11, 2007 - 04:55 am:        cam cover gasket, chafed oil line, loose oil pump in that order if oil only below. loosen rocker arm assy's and replace cam cover gasket. get a manual or look at the knowledge vault s1 manual. tim   Cyclonecharlie Posted on Thursday, October 11, 2007 - 07:41 am:        Try looking around the oil filter and the oil sending unit right below the filter..... Charlie   Tattoodnscrewd Posted on Thursday, October 11, 2007 - 12:24 pm:        Check to see where your trans vent tube comes out, and see if fluid is coming out of there ... if your main crank seal went, it would fill the primary and piss fluid all over that side of the bike.....   Scott_in_nh Posted on Thursday, October 11, 2007 - 01:23 pm:        I just had the same thing happen a few weeks ago - it was the cam cover. I cleaned it real good and then sprayed foot powder on it, started it up and it was very clear where it was coming from.... It isn't hard to replace, but it does take some time. A can of carb cleaner makes a handy pressure washer to get the old oil out before you spray on the foot powder to trace the leak.   Standingdeadwood Posted on Sunday, October 14, 2007 - 10:13 pm:        Before I diagnose any problem, I think back to what I've done or changed recently. Nobody can screw you like you can screw yourself. If you've changed or added primary fluid, you may have just over filled it. This will cause it to puke on your tire, due to expansion, when it gets to operating temp.
