my shock locknut backed off from vibration.
it beat around enough before i realized it to screw up the thread on it and/or the shock itself. i need to repair it

does anyone know the specs of the thread size and pitch, so that i can start lookin' for a shop that has the proper stuff to chase the threads? it is metric, right?

if anyone has a spare nut off of a useless shock, i'd buy it

thanks for any help.......

I don't think you have much to worry about.
Mine was loose until it wore out (like 50,000 miles).
I didn't even notice it was loose until I took it off to replace it.
I think the spring tension in that can keeps it from spinning.
The road grit doesn't help much either.

You could probably chase the threads with a dental pick if you wanted though.
