I have the passwinder err forcewinder intake on my 99 x1,

Came that way from the previous owner.

So anyways, is there supposed to be some kind of bracket that holds the throttle body and intake on other than the brace that runs along the bottom. What keeps happening is the entire intake and throttle body vibrates out of the manifolds.

The brace on the bottom is as tight as it can be.

I have seen in pictures a bracket holding the entire intake to the engine, is this supposed to be there with this intake setup?

Yep, sure is...

It bolts to the heads...

Then, when you bolt the air cleaner of choice to the throttle body, that bracket is sandwiched in there, stabilizing the whole set-up

I have one of those brackets if you need. No breather hardware just the bracket.

Is this the bracket you're talking about?

That brackets not on my bike, so I'm inclined to say yes.

Is there any difference between the one for carbed tubers vs EFI tubers?

Yea, you need that..I wouldn't ride without it...You can get it from any HD shop...It's the :
29429-97Y AIR FILTER BACK PLATE 25.50

I believe that's the part number for the X1...
And the 2004 Retail Price from the 04 Price Book..=)

If you still need one The one i have is for the forcewinder intake. I went to a carb and scrapped the EFI and switched all of it. The EFI one doesn't have the fourth hole in the flange like the one in the picture above does. $10.00 plus shipping if your interested.

you can't really blame the last owner. The (lousy) instructions that came with mine said to chuck it!
No, I didn't.
