The same part painted with high heat paint and a whole bunch of miles.

I had to paint mine as well...high temp paint will do the trick.

5liter,
What are you using as a spacer on your front hanger? I have a stack of washers on both sides of the exhaust tab. I like the cleaner look.

Devdawg:
I got a 2 inch bolt and 1 washer in there. The hanger tab on the mid-pipe almost touches hanger on the bike. I've got a nylock nut one washer on the inside. It doesn't vibrate now like it did using the long bolt that came on the bike.

My muffler never rusted, just the mid-pipe.

The rusty bend is the Achilles' heel of the D&D. I thought that I just had a bad pipe, but I guess others have the rust problem as well.

For the price of a new mid-pipe, it should never rust. That being said, with this great resource we have here, one can solve the problem cheaply.

My D&D Pipe rusted badly. I've been told that the pipe is not powder coated to keep the price down. I sanded the rust off and used black bbq grill paint.

Send the part to me and I'll get it coated, it will have a "LIFETIME" warranty and you can get it in most colors. I did mine in what they call chrome.
