Trying to figure out the difference, exactly. Looking at the pics, it appears the (still available) S3 bags will velcro themselves just fine to the fairing supports of my S2. However, not owning an S3, I have no way to compare. I suspect that even if the velcro isn't "right", a well-placed zip tie or two will do the job.

Anyone?

I just want someplace to keep my freakin' sunglasses and my clear lenses for nighttime, LOL.

Hey Joe. Can you post the fairing spider frame diagram from a manual? It may give a better way to see what the bags have to attach to. I have some S2 bags that a bought from e-bay thinking that that they were S3 bags, are you interested in them? Or I can compare them to the S3 bags for you and give you my opinion.

Phat - I've heard they will not work, just trying to figure out why and can I work around it since the S2 bags are discontinued, and S3 still available.

M2 - if the S2 bags are in good condition, I'd be happy to buy a new set of S3s and trade ya if you like. Again, just trying to figure out if they'll work. Doesn't have to be sexy, I'm not afraid of a zip tie or three...but I'm tired of having to dig thru a saddlebag for a pair of glasses, LOL.

Looking at the pic of the S3 bags in the catalog (2001), they appear to have a velcro tab along the top (front) edge, and my S2 has a bar there that goes out to the turn signal...so it looks to me like it'd be close enough to work...maybe?

I'll get on parts lookup tomorrow and compare the support bracket shapes, good idea. Thanks : )

I've found a box of bags the other day. If I can, I''l try to post pics of the two so you can see the differences.

They are all made by the same company in Topeka, KS.

Yah, I looked in EPC today and the frame setups are totally different. The S2 is a perimeter tubular frame; the S3 has a center box section with long spars out to hold the fairing.

I would not be surprised. I also know that the supply of S-3 inner liners, currently in stock, will carry us well for the next two centuries.

I sent a pair of RR-1000 windscreens to Aaron yesterday on moments notice. . . . and there are, after John's shipped, 3 RS seat pads left in inventory.

: )

The only problem is the part numbers are not in our current TalonES load. Fortunately the parts manager knows I'm not tossing him BS part numbers and will add 'em in for me.

If anyone wants to chase them down themselves, have your dealership look up a '96 S2T in EPC, and the original (-95Y) part numbers are listed. They supersede to the numbers I listed above...just in case your counterperson is skeptical about numbers they haven't personally sourced.

Well, the new bags arrived today and I have them on the bike. Cool thing - even though they're new bags, they still use the "old" pegasus logo!
