Well, I love my D208s in the dry. Handle great, ride nice, treadwear is acceptable...but in the rain (like tonight), they SUCK. Since the S2 is fast becoming my daily bike (and my FLHP, which until I got the S2, was ridden every day) I'd like to find some good tires for all-weather use. I do ride agressively on the street, but not racer-agressive; my knees are never down. I'm not in any rush since the 208s are only about a month old...but I'm starting my research now as I'm sure I'll need at least a rear by late fall / early winter. Any and all thoughts or suggestions are appreciated  | ||

Pirelli scorpion syncs. That's what comes on the city-X, I've had them on my S2 for the last 2 years now, they work great! | ||

Stick with Dunlop, just upgrade. Dunlop has made an upgrade to your D208. Look for D220's. Thats what I have on my Buell S3 right now and I love em! If you compare the two side by side you will see a noticeable improvement in tread with the D220. I use my Buell as a daily driver, but I still love to take it up into the mountains every now and again. Have not had any problems with them, both wet and dry. We would all love to get Pirelli tires, but at $130 for the D220 you cant go wrong. | ||

Bartimus, Did did you put a 180 or a 160 on the rear? I don't think they make Syncs in a 170, or else I would have put them on my S2. I guess I could have gone with a 160 on my cast wheels, but I went with Conti Road Attacks because they had the right sizes and the reviews were good. For what it's worth I've ridden my Conti Road Attacks in the rain and they handled it just fine. They're also awesome in both handling and long life (I've got about 4K on them now and they still look new.) | ||

I agree w/ Bart. As soon as mine go, on w/ the Scorpions. Have heard good things. You might also want to go to a flatter profile. More tire on the road s/ mean more traction. If you're not a scraper, you don't need as much curve. If money is an issue, go w/ the 220s. My dealership ( along w/ some others) offers 20% on all factory items, which makes for a nice price. | ||

Well, price for me on just about any OEM tire is good - I work for the dealer ;) And I do run a 180 on the rear, so it's the same size as an XB...might look into the Scorpions. How are they on treadwear though? I've done the thumbnail test, and they seem super-soft... |
