I have heard that the Kawi ZX9 levers are the same for the tuber brake setup. I need a remote reservoir front brake setup to go around my custom fairing (yes the last of the Eurocomponents ones) for my X-1. Does anyone know what years are the same levers for our bikes, so I can keep my levers and just get the rest of the parts? Thanks |

Gentleman_jon has a remote reservoir on Lil' Blackie that looks very well done. If he doesn't chime in, track him down in the XB board. I'm sure he'll be more than happy to provide details and pics of it, but more importantly, he'll know what he's talking about... unlike other members here (I'm talking about myself). |

The lever itself will fit your existing master cylinder, but the MC bore size may be different then what you need. The MC on an X1 has a 1/2" bore. 14mm would be the closest most commonly available bore size with a remote reservoir. Shindy (which is the importer of Nissin I think) has a couple of MCs that will work for you and are available at any dealership that purchases through Parts Unlimited/Drag Specialities. Gentilman_jon posted in the KV how to modify your existing lever to fit these MCs. I just installed a 17mm Nissin radial master cylinder that I got from americansportbike.com on my M2. It was about $220, and it is totally worth it. |

I have no problem going to a bigger MC, I just need to know a good supplier for where to get one with the remote reservoir. I'll have to do a search on Shindy through PU and Drag. How long ago did Gent_Jon post his mod? |

The last one? So *you're* the one who bought it. I didn't have to change my reservoir for the fairing to work. How is it interfering? |

I run a set of 4 way adjustable bars and have them set really low and forward, almost as low as clips ons. The problem is they are about 2.5"s wider than stock so the top of the stock reservoir hits when I turn left. It only hit when I am rolling slow and limits the amount I can turn the front end. I hasn't been a real issue when riding, I just want to fix it before I destroy the fairing. |
