That would almost be a nice *replacement* for the factory key-latches. Since my bags were P&A bags and not factory equipment, I have three keys for my bike: ignition/seat, right bag, left bag. I never ride to areas that I need to lock my bags, so a latch would be a nice change to "which *&^*#($ key is it...". Either that or I could adapt a set of the police bag hockey puck latches like on my FLHP. Hmm....

Very nice work though! Gives me ideas : )

Onahog,

Do you have any close up side view pictures of how you mounted that latch?

I purchased a pair, because I liked your idea (that and I'm tired of loosing contents of the bag, and only realizing it when I hear the bags grinding on a bend). It looks like I will need to make some sort of spacer for under the back of the latch.

Also, are those bungee loops mounted to the back of your bags? If so, are they something you made, or purchased? I was looking at my bags last night as was thinking of making, and mounting something similar but fastening it under the lock assembly...
