I just purchased a 1995 S2, 3665 miles, Red Snap/White frame, white wheels, bone stock. It's in near perfect condition. Have yet to actually ride it, bought it on looks alone. I dropped it off at the dealer to get seven recalls taken care of, fluids changed, and general inspection. The major recall items are the rear shock and swingarm. I will need to address the rear blinkers, as the paper thin fiberglass that they are mounted to has cracked on the left side and the blinker is a little floppy. I'm thinking of building up that black part of the tail from the underside with some fiberglass and resin to stiffen up the blinker mounting. Is that a dumb idea? Any suggestions, comments or opinions will be appreciated. Thanks. | ||

Congrats on new bike, that fiberglass repair sounds good--have done something like it to one of mine,but I glasses a big washer in there for more strength. You should see if you can keep the WP shock as it is getting pretty rare and never was a real concern for failure--I kept mine.12 years old and 3665 miles---wow,305 miles a year. | ||

Great score - same bike I bought three months ago, down to the color! I've also got an S1W and for comfort...S2, hands down. Quite possibly The Best Bike I've Ever Owned! I'm doing some performance work on mine right now, but if you have any questions at all please feel free to email me. Here's hoping you get it out of the dealer soon - you're gonna LOVE it! Curious... Which part # shock are they giving you as a replacement for your recalled one.. | ||

Don't know the part # of the shock, but I should be able to find out. When I dropped it off, they looked up the open recalls (or campaigns as they like to call them), which must have given them part numbers where required. They claimed to have the shock and swingarm in stock. He did print out a 4-5 page bulletin on the shock replacement which I looked over briefly. I'll be surprised if this goes smoothly, as they didn't seem to have that "off the top of their heads" knowledge of any of these recalls. | ||
