Author Message   Milar Posted on Wednesday, June 06, 2007 - 05:25 pm:        Hi, I have a newly acquired 1995 S2. The dipstick has 3 rings. An upper ring, a middle set of 2 rings and a lower ring. 1. Which is the correct ring for measuring the oil level? 2. Is the oil measured with the bike on the sidestand or standing level? Thanks in advance! Which I did not. All I want to do is be certain the bike has the correct oil level. M   Djkaplan Posted on Thursday, June 07, 2007 - 10:05 am:        I believe there is a service manual for the S1 in a downloadable format right here on the BadWeb somewhere. Maybe it has a similar dipstick to your S2. On my M2, you are supposed to measure the oil level with the bike level. Anywhere between the upper and lower rings is supposed to be hunky-dory, but it's actually better to have it at the low end of the spectrum. Too high and your engine will spew oil through the breather passages in the heads. "Check your service manual 3-31." You went to the trouble to find the page number in your manual, but you couldn't help the guy out and tell him the information?
