Okay after reading a few things would like some help. Bike will not idle when cold. Stumbles alittle down low. Running a force intake, race ecm and pipe. 02 X1 with 2700 miles. How is a reset done and in your valuable opinions will it help?

If you have the VS## (I forget the name) software, then you can do it yourself...or if you know someone that has it...otherwise your dealer will have to do it. When you changed your ECM, did you reset the TPS?? If not, it needs to be done IIRC. If you were near me, I could do it for you....

Thankyou, I bought the bike with2200 on it and the cat I got it from said he had it done but it ran a Hypercharger and ecm and pipe. It did it then, still now. Not worse so the intake didnt change it. I didnt expect it to, so maybe it was never done. Yes, too bad your on the left coast. I'll consult a dealer. Be safe ride hard......Mattu

If you get yours done soon let me know. i've got a 1999 set up like yours and had the tps reset by the dealer and it ran better at 2000 rpm range but it starts like crap when cold, hunts or surges around 30 mph. I think the dealer i took it to either didn't do it or didn't know what they were doing. The dealers that service Buells here in northern michigan almost hate the bikes.

Surging is yet another problem I have. Above 2500 it is pretty good. Plugs are a bit white which leads me to believe its lean.

Intake seals ( air leak )
o2 sensor
et sensor
dirty (gummed injectors)
the little smog nipple under the Throt bod is not plugged (air leak)

The stock ECM does not work that well under cold running conditions

an intake air leak will lean the mixture in the mapped area under 2700 rpm as the 02 does not read well here.

Et sensor skews the mixture whe its off

o2 skews mixture control in closed loop if off.

plugs on the stock ecm tend to be white or light grey with little or no ash
