i was wondering if any of you had any experience adjusting the maps on the pcII? i want to richen it up a bit and am unsure how to do it. i am running it with the V&H and k&N map and it is running a bit lean. runs like a raped ape though. i have also heard that fi is supposed to run a bit lean??

the pcII / III came with software and a cable for use with a computer. IIRC it would put up a grid and you plug numbers into cells on it for various points on the "map"

the factory (PWR CMDR) had a variety of maps available you should start with the map that is closest to your equipment.


the Standard EFI units run at an "acceptable" lean for clean air stadards.

the race ECM runs for optimum power.
with the kit setup for the typical engine

the standard ecm gets almost 50 mpg for me
the race ecm gets about 43 mpg.

there are a number of different things that can effect the mixture outside of the EFI control, air leaks, electrical problems, sensor problems.

that is a different discussion,

yeah i have the software. i have gone through it and guess before i make any changes i want to make sure i do it correct. there is a shop here in town that has a dyno. i may bring it down and have it tuned. i thought i read somewhere there is a certain dyno that should be used but cannot remember.

That would be an eddy current brake dyno it allows a tuner to place the bike in a specific rev range and load condition for monitoring / adjustments, they also usualy have the fuel air gauge setup to watch exhaust gas make up to get a good tune you want both

Dyno jet type 250 or some such is one brand

IMO any good tuner sould be able to provide references, street rider/ week end racer bikes would be best VS all out WFO race bikes.

consider if you are near one of our sponsoring speed shops visit them.

an engine is a terrible thing to waste.

i just reinstalled it with my stock gutted exhaust and a new hp o2 sensor, still have the stock air filter. but since i got it done it has been raining, go figure. how do i find out if there is a speed shop near by? runs good and sounds alot better.

yeah i checked the sponsor list nothing close. there is a dyno here in town at sioux city power sports so i guess i will give them a call.
